Touring the canals.

Those who had money in the period between the world wars, bought themselfs a so called Bakdekker. This is a yacht with a long foredeck under which usually is a small cabin with sofa beds, toilet and galley. The engine is situated in the open stern. The Bakdekkers are well known for their beautiful sheer line and their flared bow.
These ships are still popular for touring. In the company of family and friends, with a glass of wine and something to eat, it is cozy sailing through for example the Amsterdam canals. There was also located the ship to which this model was made.
